Iditarod Camp: puppy walks

At Iditarod camp, we learned how important socialization is in creating champion sled-dogs, and the teachers got plenty of puppy-bonding time. Each morning and evening, we’d gather up all the little guys from their kindergarten enclosure and go walking with them in the woods. They’d tag along all pell-mell, wrestling with each other, exploring invisible things in bushes, bouncing along at our heels. I was so busy photographing everybody else loving on these pups that I somehow forgot to pick one up myself. (I know! Unbelievable!) Which means, of course, I’ll have to go back. (Oh, and for those of you who know my crazy dog, Hawk, notice how one of the black-and-white pups is a dead ringer for him.)
