Iditarod Camp: the dogs

I promise I did take pictures of things other than dogs when I traveled through Alaska, though it’s probably starting to seem like I took a picture of every dog in the state. (And I realize some of you might be like, “OK, OK, enough with the dogs already!”) So if you’re done with dogs, skip this post. But for those of you who, like me, love interpreting the many facial and body expressions of canine moods, have fun with these pictures. And don’t be alarmed by the one snarly dog. She wasn’t snarling at me, or any other human. She was talking smack to one of her least favorite canine neighbors. Oh! And one more thing: Yes, I confess I did fall deeply in love with Vern’s old dog named Chief, whose mismatched eyes were alluring enough, but whose calm and noble temperament was uncannily like my old dear dog, who just happened to be named Chief. šŸ™‚
